The new tournament series allows coaches to simulate the student experience.

EDWARDSVILLE, IL (May 14, 2021) – Ultimate Gaming Championship (UGC), is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Coach Rivals, a series of free summer esports tournaments hosted exclusively for esports coaches. Under the terms of the partnership UGC will be responsible for upgrading the infrastructure of Coach Rivals’ online platform to facilitate its upcoming tournaments. These events coupled with the dedicated community of scholastic coaches at Coach Rivals will help educate coaches on best practices within a scholastic esports program by giving them the opportunity to trade tips with their peers while competing in the same type of well-structured events that their student athletes enjoy.

“The partnership with Coach Rivals adds a new capability to UGC, allowing us to serve coaches in the scholastic space with their own events in the offseason for the first time,” says Jeremy Packer CTO at UGC. “This concept is fresh and brings a new dimension to one of UGC’s core values, which is making esports accessible to everyone. Providing our technology to this community of over two hundred coaches and educators over the summer will be an exciting way to kick off our Fall 2021 seasons.”

“There is such a huge difference between playing or practicing vs competing on game day, and I never fully understood that until my first season with Coach Rivals. Realizing what our kids were going through allowed me to completely change our routines for the HS team.” says Cooper Fiscus van-Rossum co-operator of Coach Rivals. “Having UGC as a partner is extremely exciting. Their mission and vision regarding the advancing scholastic esports isn’t just talk, they listen and produce. We can’t wait to see what we can do together!”
